Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is the name of a Canadian actor from Canada. Paquin was born in Winnipeg, raised in Wellington and first made her acting debut as Flora McGrath when she played the role of Flora McGrath in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for Best Supporting Actress. Anna Paquin in full Anna Helene Paquin (born July 24, 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) Canadian-born New Zealand actress who as a child received her an Academy Award for best supporting actress for her role as the inquisitive and spirited daughter of the lead character, played by Holly Hunter in the atmospheric romance film The Piano (1993). As a result of an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish piano player. Flora McGrath is the child of a mute Scottish musician who came into New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. At the age of a teen, her family moved from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was chosen to play the role of the child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. Also, she was a leading role as a lead character in Fly Away Home, a movie from the same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a less prominent role. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). In addition, she played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
