April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player American, is among a select category of females who have been awarded medals at several Olympics. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian and is set to join her at Tokyo. Ross aims to earn an Olympic first gold medal however, she also hopes to earn more. It could be the last time she has the chance to do so at the age of 39. Still confident but she is not sure. Ross through NBC Boston, said that when the team performs well or at all they can earn a gold. Therefore, I'm hoping to have some luck too. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in the year 1982. Her parents as well as her sister lived there. She was able to participate in numerous sports in Newport Harbor High School. When she was a student in the prep school she played the indoor game of volleyball, as well as basketball and running track. However, she was a standout at this level. In her college profile, she was an outside-hitting hitter, middle blocker and setter throughout her volleyball time in high school. Thanks to her hard work, she was honored as an 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. She also captured the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross is currently working with Klineman from 2017, but Ross's beach game was well-established long before this. Actually Ross has won a number of major tournaments in her career together with two other partners. One is a volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until the year 2013. Together with Kessy Ross was awarded a World Title in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. They were awarded a silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the group to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor after she had retired. The pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross played for the Trojans of USC throughout her college the years prior to her professional career. This was an impressive performance for Ross during her time at the university. In 2000, as a freshman, her play earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. She also helped the Trojans reach their first Final Four. She endured a great personal defeat in her sophomore year but was still successful in achieving the All-American distinction. Over the course of her final two seasons she led the Trojans up the mountain and won consecutive national titles. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time great having won the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross had been an international studies student at USC. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter's rise to beach volleyball fame. Ross's mom passed away due to cancer of the breast when she was a sophomore in USC. She continues to cherish her late parent. Also, Margie is an ongoing source of motivation for her at the beaches and throughout her daily life.
