April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star American is part of a select category of females who have won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix-Klineman will compete with Ross at Tokyo to win her third gold medal over the coming days. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic gold medal. The next opportunity she gets at age 39. Her optimism is that she'll be successful in achieving top honours. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing well or at all they could win a gold. This is also the result of luck. Ross was born on August 22, 1982, at Costa Mesa California. She resided there along with her entire family. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. Apart from playing indoor volleyball, she also played basketball and jogged track in her pre-college days. She was definitely an edge over the other players in the latter sport. As a time at the high school level, according to her college biography she played as an outside-hitter, middle-blocker and setter. Thanks to her hard work she was named an 1999 Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. She also received the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Although Ross and Klineman are a couple since 2017, the former was already a big-time athlete on the beach prior to their team. Actually, Ross has won several significant tournaments during her time together with two other partners. One of them is a legend. She teamed up together with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's trainer. Along with Kessy, Ross won the World Championship in 2009 while competing internationally. The 2012 Olympic Games, they received the gold medal. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends that was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, beat them out to win the gold medal. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement as she left the team. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Ross competed for USC Trojans in her college years before becoming a professional. She had a great run during her time in college. In 2000, as a freshman she earned Pac-10 and NCAA The Freshman of the Year awards and earned an All-American. The Trojans could also make it to the Final Four with her help. In her sophomore season, she experienced a terrible personal tragedy, but managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. Through her two final seasons with the Trojans program, she guided them to a national title every time. Individually she had cemented herself as an all-time great having won the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross was a student of International Relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the opportunity to see her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore studying at USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. She has kept her parents close to her the heart. Margie is a constant source of inspiration to her both on and off the beach.
