Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington has worked as an actor, journalist, philanthropist and author for over ten years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England together with her family around age 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. After graduation she made her mark as columnist in the conservative syndicated media as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice platform that gave critical opinions about the current political climate. In part, her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to contest independently during the California recall election to replace then Governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in a Detroit-based project that promoted fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes listed her as one of one of the "most powerful women" in the media industry, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most influential media people in 2009. In 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made the president of that media company, which also included a number of at the time-current AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos as well as Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are management consultants and journalists. While she was close with father, her relationship to her mom shaped the course of her entire life. At a young age, she displayed her leadership skills and is a household name. She moved to England at sixteen to further her studies and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined the debating society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was awarded. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic and an anchor on TV. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She began to write books, taking his help to edit.
